Many of you will know that over the last few months APWM has been gathering money to buy 33,000 Bibles in the Nuer language for the South Sudanese Presbyterians who live in the refugee camps in Ethiopia. Each Bible costs $10.
These refugee camps house 385,000 people. About 100,000 of them belong to our sister church, the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan.
We are grateful for the approximately $66,000 that has been given to date (June 2018).
This means that 6,600 lives will be changed. Many of these people will have their lives shaped by the Word of God and will tell others what they have been reading — the impact of this will be tremendous!
Consider what God says in Isaiah 55:10-11
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
