Sunday 12th July: Indigenous Ministry Sunday

APWM asks churches to set aside Sunday 12th of July as Indigenous Ministry Sunday. This is an opportunity to particularly pray for God’s work among Australia’s Indigenous people. Here are some prayer points you may care to use:
– Pray for the Lord to continue raising Indigenous leaders to reach out to Indigenous communities.
– Pray for Indigenous Theological students to be better equipped to serve the Lord.
– Pray for Bible translation projects for Indigenous languages, so that God’s Word can take deep root in Indigenous communities.

Indigenous Translation Workshop

APWM have prepared a video for Indigenous Ministry Sunday. If you’d like a copy of the video to show in churches or small groups, please email national@apwmnational.org.au.

Please also pray for our missionaires who are serving in Indigenous ministries:
1) Rick and Kayleen Manton: Mount Druitt
Rick and Kayleen Manton are APWM missionaries serving at the Mount Druitt Indigenous Church in Sydney’s western suburbs. It’s an area with many social challenges and Rick and Kayleen love the people of Mount Druitt.
2) Anne Spragg: Bible Translation with Wycliffe
Anne serves in the translation of the Bible into an Australian Indigenous Language in West Arnhem, in the Northern Territory.
3) Bob & Lucy Quinn: Moree with Pioneers
Bob & Lucy are serving and making disciples to build mature churches among Indigenous people of North-West NSW.

If you wish to contribute to the continued funding of the Presbyterian Church of Australia’s ministry to Indigenous people, please visit https://www.apwm.org.au/finance/ for giving details.

Thank you for your partnership.
