An Extraordinary Life

Rob Duncanson & Manuel Rodriquez

Rob Duncanson & Manuel Rodriquez

Friends of our ministry in East Timor will be saddened to learn of the sudden death of Pastor Manuel Rodriquez. He was in many ways an ‘ordinary’ pastor but God used him in extraordinary ways. He never wrote a book or appeared on a platform as a speaker at a conference but God used him to spread the glory of His name in East Timor. This man is a tremendous example to us of someone who was determined to see the Kingdom of God grow in East Timor. He leaves behind a wife and five children. It is well worth the time to read some of the details of his life at Rob Duncanson’s East Timor blog.

Goodbye and Hello

Friday, December 13th, 2013

Today we say ‘Goodbye’ to our Office Administrator, Tracey Evans, who has her last day with APWM today. Tracey has faithfully served with humour, patience and grace for over two years. We thank God for her hard work! However as Tracey leaves we also say ‘Hello’ to Rob Falls who is succeeding her. Rob is involved with Presbyterian Youth and attends Wahroonga Presbyterian Church. Already he has been a blessing to our ministry.

A Great Way to Support Mission this Christmas (and the rest of the year)

Tuesday, November 12th, 2013

Screen Shot 2013-11-13 at 7.50.38 amHere’s an idea for a great Christmas present that will support mission. For many years this cookbook has enabled the Victorian Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union to do some brilliant work in mission. Buy lots for Christmas and support the work of the gospel overseas at the same time!

The PWMU Cookbook will be re-launched in Melbourne (156 Collins St, 11.00 am, 5th November) by the Governor’s wife Mrs Elizabeth Chernov. Would you like to support Gospel Mission work across the world? Come and buy a copy and buy copies for your friends for CHRISTMAS – all profits on the day (5th Nov) and then all royalties, from then on, go to MISSION. This applies wherever you buy a copy – from Myer, from Dymocks etc – all royalties go to MISSION.

Thanks to the indefatigable editor Dr Mairi Harman and the PWMU Cookbook Committee!

Only 124 days left till Christmas! What gift can you give to someone who already has so much? Why not be a blessing to others and give a gift that will make a difference in the lives of others. Our 2013 APWM Christmas Catalogue is now available.

HOW IT WORKS

1. You choose the item(s) on our list that you would like to purchase for your friends/family.

2. Send us your order, including payment. Please note that these gifts are not tax deductible.

3. We will send you the cards you have ordered. You are then free to give these cards to your friends/family for Christmas. The cards state which gift(s) you have purchased, on their behalf, for someone in East Timor or Myanmar. The card does not state the monetary value of the gift.

4. APWM then sends the money to our partners in East Timor or Myanmar. They will then purchase the gifts locally and distribute them to those in need.
